The Good Stuff!

Thanks for a Great week!

Even though we had a short week, there was a lot accomplished. As we finish our last regular week of Trimester 2 next week, thank you for continuing to go above and beyond to support students and families. A little communication will go a long way leading up to exams. Thanks ahead of time for your patience and compassion!

Staff Shout Out

Major Kudos to Phoebe, Amira, Sarah Y. and Tom V.B. for leading many RPS staff through their specific PD sessions on Tuesday! They did a GREAT job and represented themselves, their instructional interests and our building very well!

Thank you for your efforts!

Example in Excellence

Kelly and I had the honor and privilege of presenting the RFC 2016 Example in Excellence, Niyah Banfill, at a recent Board of Education meeting. Below is a great picture of when I was explaining to the audience about the awesome first impression she made with our building this fall ("...firm handshake, golden smile and a contagiously positive attitude..."). Her reaction was spot on, don't you think?

In addition to those qualities, Niyah is an incredible student, has impeccable attendance and makes it a priority to serve her family, school and community. She exemplifies excellence in all things inside and outside of the classroom!

Congratulations Niyah!

I cannot believe that we held our Incoming Freshman Orientation meeting on Wednesday night! Were did the time go?!

Major KUDOS to Sara Z., Deb, Tara, and Kelly for their efforts in planning, organizing and successfully executing two evening presentations!

We look forward to working with the families of the Rockford High School Class of 2020!

Welcome the Rain

The link below will take you to a 3 minute video about perspective. As quoted in the email preceding the video, "Imagine if the next time you were faced with a huge obstacle, confronted with incredible adversity, or thrown into an impossible situation, you were filled with HOPE instead of dread."

I encourage you to take the time to watch this video today. There are some great messages in this video. Enjoy!
