4th Quarter Resetting Assemblies on Monday 4/3/17 During Electives
On Monday we will conduct 4th quarter re-setting assemblies for each grade level during their elective classes. The assemblies will be held in the gymnasium and will not take the entire period. During the assemblies we will discuss behavioral expectations for the 4th quarter, PBIS events scheduled for the remainder of the year and plans for our EOG "push" for April & May. The start times for each assembly are below.

3rd Quarter Grades Due 4/3/17
Thursday was the last day of the 3rd quarter. The deadline to turn in all final grades to Ms. Mason is Monday, April 3rd before 4:00pm.
Bulletin Boards Updated for 4th Quarter
Thank you for the departments that have already updated their bulletin boards on the main hallway for the 4th quarter. If your department hasn't had a chance to update their board yet, please do so by the end of this week.
Career & Exposure Clubs on Thursday
This Thursday we will conduct our Career & Exposure Clubs from 3:00-4:00. Final rosters will be sent to faculty members by Wednesday of this week.
Friday 4/7/17 is an Optional Teacher Workday
Friday April 7th is an optional teacher workday. Please submit your RFA form to Ms. Algood if you are planning not to be on campus on Friday.
SMS Scholars Compete at FBLA Conference in Greensboro, NC
Last week, 11 of our scholars participated in the FBLA State Conference in Greensboro, NC. Five scholars competed and of the 5 who competed, 3 placed in the top 10. Desktop Publishing- Lucero Cruz and Frida Rodriguez, Public Speaking- Cierra Reynolds, Keyboarding II-Kadyn Pleasants. All scholars represented their families and school excellently. Thank you to Ms. Harris and Ms. Cathey for chaperoning the trip and supporting our FBLA scholars during the conference.
8th Grade Scholars Visit NC A&T & the National Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, NC
Last Monday many of our 8th grade scholars visited NC A&T and the National Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, NC as a part of a 3rd quarter rewards incentive program. Thank you to Ms. Briscoe and her team for making this experience possible for our scholars.

Weekly Spartan Sports Update
Our baseball, soccer and track teams are back in action this week. Tuesday, baseball and soccer teams have home games versus Waddell Academy. On Wednesday our track team will have their next meet of the year at Eastway Middle School. Please come out and support our scholar-athletes as they demonstrate character, sportsmanship and athletic excellence on the field, diamond and track this week.
