Africa's Physical Features

Places you should go for vacation.

Ethiopian Highlands

The Ethiopian Highlands are located in the western section of the Ethiopian Plateau. While you're there, you might as well splash around in Lake Tana. The Ethiopian Highlands's highest peak is Ras Dashan, which is 4550 meters tall. So, come visit the Roof of Africa.

Kalahari Desert

The Kalahari Desert is an arid plateau region that spans three countries and 100,000 square miles in Southern Africa. The desert floor is covered in red sand, but red sand isn't the only thing out there. Grass also grows. The Kalahari Desert lies between the Orange and Zambezi Rivers.

Lake Victoria

Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and chief reservoir of the Nile River. It lies mainly in Tanzania and Uganda. It is also located in the Western and Eastern Rift Valley. It is a stunning freshwater lake and I highly suggest visiting it.

Atlantic Ocean

Last but not least, the Atlantic Ocean is the 2nd largest ocean out there. It has a very distinct "S" shape and is connected by Greenland Sea and Smith Sound. Because the Atlantic Ocean runs through the equator, there is a North and South Atlantic Ocean.
