Accelerated Reading Why It Is Important?
It is imperative that our scholars are given the opportunity to read for both scholarly and enjoyment purposes. The more scholars read, the more they enjoy it and become lifelong learners. We have implemented Accelerated Reader on our campus to support and monitor our scholars reading across all grade levels. Furthermore, Central Network has put forth a goal to reach 50,000 books read by the end of this school year. Remember reading occurs across all content areas and we were all trained on how to use Accelerated Reader. Please allow your scholars an opportunity to take quizzes in the classroom. Thank you in advance for allowing our scholars to develop a love for reading!
SOC8 50,000 Book Challenge!
Going for the Gold: 50,000 Book Challenge
50,000 Book Challenge:
Our goal for the Spring Semester is to reach 50,000 books read for the SOC8 Cluster!
How do we reach our goal?
Every student in Grades PK-5th will be asked to read at least 4 books a month for 4 months.
Teachers must ensure students are reading grade-appropriate level books. For PK-1st grade students, teacher and parent read-alouds are permitted.
What is the timeline to reach our goal?
JANUARY 2020 - APRIL 2020
How will we track our cluster, school, teacher, student goals?
We will be creating a school, teacher and student trackers.
Our plan is to have monthly progress updates, to ensure we are on track to reach our goal of 50,000 books read.
When will we send out the official information?
You can find all of the trackers in our Google Drive or HERE
Incentives, Incentives, Incentives:
We are working on both monthly and end of challenge incentives. More details to come...
