Issues Facing GT Learners

Three Big Ideas I learned

Big Idea 1:
While GT learners may be ahead of their years in some academic areas, they are not ahead of their years with their emotional and social development.

Big Idea 2:
Some learners attend universities during elementary school years.

Big Idea 3:
Complimenting learners with specific examples verses common phrases is proven to be more effective positive feedback.

Two Questions I Still Have

How will GT learners get the emotional and social support they need while pursuing academic interests not shared with their peers?

How do GT learners typically cope with failure?

One action I can take immediately is to be more aware of what inspires and engages learners who have a high level of academic acheivement in my classes.
