Message from Superintendent Cybulla

Thank you to all of our community members who supported ECSD and helped to share the information on the sinking fund renewal. While the renewal vote did not pass on Tuesday, I along with the ECSD staff will continue each day to work towards providing positive learning experiences for our students and share in their successes. The end of the school year brings many celebrations and I am looking forward to sharing in those celebrations.

Congratulations MCHS & SCHS!

ECSD Has Amazing Artistic Talent!

Polar Bears at Palms Elementary

On April 19th, Palms PTO sponsored a Mom and Son event at The Anchor Bay Sportsplex. The boys were so excited to go head to head against their moms, grandmas and other special guests in bubble soccer! The mom team really held their own and proved they've still got it! The memories made are not something the sons will soon forget!

Palms STEAM teacher, Mr. Blackstock, is teaching students about animal life cycles by observing butterflies growing and changing. Fourth graders are learning about body systems starting with the skeleton. Kindergarten classes are learning about what living things need in order to survive. Second graders are learning about animal behaviors and first graders are learning about animal body parts that help them survive.

Mr. Chris Blackstock, STEAM Teacher

Mr. Blackstock teaches the STEAM lab at Palms and Belle River Elementaries. He loves working with all the students on fun science activities. He taught virtual 5th grade for East China last year. Prior to that, he taught for 23 years in Warren, Michigan. He lives with his wife, son, daughter, 2 dogs and 2 hairless guinea pigs. In his spare time, he dresses up as Star Wars characters to raise money for charities and community groups and put smiles on people's faces.
