Growing, learning, and having fun!

Field Trip! Gem and Mineral Show at Wayne County Fairgrounds

On Friday, March 4th we will be going to the Gem and Mineral Show at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond. The students will get to participate in hands-on activities involving rocks, minerals, and fossils! Please look in your child folder for the permission slip. Students will need to bring a sack lunch that day. if you are interested in chaperoning, please let me know as soon as possible.

ISTEP is coming...

and we are ready! We will begin testing on the week of February 29th through the week of March 7th. I do not know our exact schedule or days we are testing but please try to not schedule appointments or anything that your student would need to be out of school for. Make-up tests are doable but it works out best if everyone takes the test together. Please be thinking ahead to those weeks making sure students get plenty of rest and give them lots of encouragement!

Working Hard

I am so proud of this class! We have been working hard reading complex texts, typing out longer responses in our writing, and doing multiple step math problems. Please congratulate your child for their hard work and encourage them to keep it up!

Together In Class

This week and last we have gone over several different papers as a review or practice for ISTEP. Any paper that just has a check mark or TIC, means that we did it as a class or that we went over the answers together. Those papers are not graded but more as a practice.

Moby Max Contest

Our class has started a MobyMax contest where students can login to and solve problems to earn points. The students that reach their goal will be rewarded with an ice cream party! This is also great practice to keep our math skills sharp. Students are welcome to play at home.

Don't Forget!
