RIDICULOUS, SICKENING WORK ETHIC

Why are the highly accomplished so persistent in their pursuits? First, they are resilient and hardworking. Second, they not only have determination, they have direction. The Fresh Prince, Will Smith, is a prime example of what pure determination means. He says, “I’ve never really viewed myself as particularly talented, where I excel is ridiculous, sickening work ethic.” and “The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is: I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be outworked, period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me. You might be all of those things. You got it on me in nine categories. But if we get on the treadmill together, there’s two things: You’re getting off first, or I’m going to die. It’s really that simple.”

Are you outworked by others? What in your life are you willing to die for? To be the best Roberts’ teacher you need the will to push the needle of life past your comfort zone. This summer, you will have so many opportunities for professional development. A growth mindset starts with you.

These last few weeks, the school calendar is packed with so many planned activities to keep our students excited about learning and school. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. My number one goal is to be clear on communication.
