Kathryn Lasky

Gaby is just like any other "normal" German girl living in Berlin, except that her dad works with Jewish astronomers. Gaby's father works with Albert Einstein, who is Jewish. Gaby loves to read and it is her escape from the reality of Berlin and from Adolf Hitler. Soon things she love start to go missing including her love for books. She must face someone who she never thought she would face in her living life.

Why someone should read this book:

You should read this book because it has an amazing point of view from someone who isn't Jewish but is friends with Jews. It includes real-life historical figures and many others inspired by history. It has a great plot and meaning. The little passages from other books at the beginning of every chapter is pretty cool too.
