Mrs. Sides Social Spotlight
Mrs. Sidebotham has been finishing up the first unit in our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) curriculum - Second Step. The first 4-5 lessons for students have focused on Skills for Learning. We have discussed being respectful, listening, focusing attention, following directions, self-talk, being assertive, and planning to learn. The students have used games, activities, discussion and song in these lessons.
Our next unit will be on Empathy...stay tuned!

Student Council Pencil Sale!
Buy A Pencil, Support The Student Council
Each year the Dorr Elementary Student Council holds fundraisers to raise money for projects or items for our school. Last year we were able to help the PTO purchase a new tire swing for our playground!! This year as we all know is a little bit different, but we still want to raise money for something fun for our school. (we have some ideas, but we will have to see how much we raise).
The Student Council will be selling pencils November 9th - 20th during lunch recesses for $.50/each. We will have many varieties for the kids to pick from.
We will be keeping social distancing in mind while selling as well as the collection of money.
Students who will be selling will be wearing their masks, sitting at opposite ends of a 6 foot table, and wearing gloves to touch the pencils.
Students who are buying the pencils will be stationed 6 feet apart, placing their change into buckets, and selecting their pencil from several of the variety set out on the table by the sellers.
Please only correct change will be accepted so our sellers do not have to touch any money.
Thank you for your continued support of the Dorr Elementary Student Council.
