9-11th grade 2021-2022 Choice Sheets

Parents/Guardians of current 9th-11th graders,

Believe it or not it's already time to choose our courses for next school year 2020-21. Many of our current Crockett students have submitted their choice sheets online. However, there are several of our students haven't YET chosen their courses.

Please have a conversation with your children to see if they have or have not submitted their choice sheet. If they have NOT, then we would appreciate your help in ensuring they do so.

Students should fill out the online choice sheet ONLY ONCE

Most Crockett 9th-11th graders will use this form to submit their choice sheets. https://form.jotform.com/210138047457150. Again, only submit this form if they have NOT already done so.

Our wonderful Course Selection webpage can help guide your student in choosing their courses. There are even some videos there to show them how to. https://sites.google.com/austinisd.org/crockettcourses/home

ONLY those students already in Early College High School (taking ACC courses and working with Ms. Capps/Mr. Quintana on their course plans) should fill out the ECHS course selection form here. https://form.jotform.com/210154363823146

In the upcoming weeks CHS counselors will be meeting with each student to have an individual conversation about their courses chosen and how they align with the student's plans for after high school while ensuring they are on track to graduate. If students wish to change a course after they submit their choice sheet, they may tell their counselor during these meetings which should occur over the next five weeks.

Padres / tutores de estudiantes actuales de 9. ° a 11. ° grado,

Congratulations to Crockett ECHS 20-21 Teacher of the Year!

Take a moment to read a little about what inspired Ms. Reed's educational journey, we are so thankful you choose to teach at Crockett ECHS!

Growing up amongst some of the most influential educators I have known in my own family, I knew from an early age that education and coaching were not just in my future, but a true calling. As a multicultural Black and Hispanic female, I grew up surrounded by culturally- diverse educators. In my work today, I teach, coach, and serve as a formal teacher mentor with a full heart, and an authenticity that my students and mentees benefit from long after they have gone on to pursue their teaching career or next passion in this life.

My focus on weaving social justice into all facets of my influence comes from relatives such as my great-great grandmother who was a professor at Wilberforce College in Ohio. My great-grandfather, who was a principal, teacher, and coach, who has an elementary school named after him in Dallas. He even won the Texas State Basketball championship during the first year of school integration. Stories like these passed down in my family shaped my worldview and my passion for educating a younger generation to make their own mark. My father, however, is my main persuader, and he is an educator and a coach. He continues to inspire me to influence my students and athletes in the nuances of how to conduct themselves righteously and to pursue every possible opportunity. Fellow teachers and coaches I have worked with have also been influential in many ways, confirming that the choice I made to educate is the right one. As I continue to grow and learn from my amazing colleagues, athletes, and students, I will stay true to my own core values, and those of CECHS.

I am proud to be an educator and even more proud to teach at Crockett Early College High School!

Way to Go Lady Cougars!!
