Specials Google Classroom Codes
- Google Classroom is the platform all of our Specials Teachers are using on the Central Side of the district. This is where their lessons will be posted.
- As with other teacher groups (1st, 2nd, etc.), they were able to select 1 of 2 platforms; Google Classroom or Seesaw.
- For many parents, this is a second platform. Our apologies for any added anxiety, or difficulty this may cause. Please let us know how we can help. We understand if you are focused on one day at a time, one platform at a time! We are all learning. :)
- Only student emails can be used to log in.
- Specials teachers will post their Zoom hours in their Google Classroom.
- Please feel free to contact them directly. They are looking forward to connecting with our Rangers!
- If you do not have the student login information (email address and password) please reach out to your child's teacher.
Thank you for your support! We are all learning together!
Written and Video Directions For Accessing Google Classrooms for Specials
Math Journals Being Mailed Out Tomorrow!
Here Are Some Key Reminders/Clarifications from the Elementary Principal's Letter
Daily Lesson Aspects
By 9:00 a.m. each day, a new lesson/activity will be shared with students that day on either Seesaw or Google Classroom
Lessons will focus on a key grade-level standard, allow for student practice/work time, and communicate what assignments may be submitted to the teacher for feedback. (This week maybe establishing routines and procedures)
Language Arts and Math on alternating days, two days a week for each subject.
A 15-20 minute student assignment will typically accompany daily lessons, for the application and practice of students’ new learning.
Families setting aside time for independent reading is strongly encouraged every day. Suggested duration: 30 minutes for Kindergarten, 45 minutes for Grades 1 through 4.
Students with either a Special Education IEP or 504 will continue to be supported by their teachers and/or specialists, in accordance with individual plans and a developed Contingency Learning Plan.
Friday Learning Support - teachers will determine weekly.
Teachers may send supporting materials through the U.S. Mail to families or make phone calls, as needed.
Additional Information
Teachers will communicate a brief weekly update letting you know of important information, updates, an outline for the week, and their teacher-student check-in times for the week.
Teacher and Student Check-In Hours or “Office Hours”
Teachers will be available 2-3 hours per week for social-emotional and/or academic check-ins, lesson follow-up, small group lessons, and ensuring student success.
The teacher will communicate these times/days with you. Our goal is to provide on-demand support to students at scheduled times.
Methods/platforms by which teachers will connect with students vary. Examples include Zoom, Google Classroom, Seesaw, phone.
Staff will continue to respond to students throughout the day as they normally would during the school year.
Our counselors, special education teachers, and support staff will also be supporting students with office hours.
Student Expectations Moving Forward
What Will be Expected of My Student?
As students engage in new learning, they should plan to check their class online platform daily, view lessons/videos, and complete practice activities. Students will participate in teacher-student check-ins as often as possible. Given the variables that exist within families at this time, options exist for students to flex their learning.
