A Letter From Dr. Carey April 29, 2022
Dear Enumclaw School District Community,
Returning from Spring Break
The week after spring break always signals the beginning of the race to the finish line for our students! In addition to getting things in place to end the school year, staff across the district have also begun the process of planning for summer learning and preparing for the new school year in the Fall of 2022. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our graduating seniors, while continuing to focus our attention and efforts on making certain that we have “systems” in place to ensure the success of ALL of our students. Our Theory of Action and vision for our students remains crystal clear in the exciting months to come!
Shaun
Anthony Clarke, Principal at Enumclaw Middle School, has accepted a position as the Principal of Bonney Lake High School in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District.
Tony shared with EMS staff and families, "I have mixed emotions as I am writing this email. Recent events in my life have been a reminder of the limited time we have on this earth. With this and many other factors in mind, I applied to be the Principal of Bonney Lake High School and was offered the position over Spring Break. It has been a long-time dream of mine to be the Principal at BLHS. I opened the school as a teacher and I worked alongside the staff for sixteen years. I never expected this opportunity to open so soon, nor did I expect that I would feel so conflicted about this opportunity.
I will miss being a Timberwolf. Enumclaw Middle School is a special place. It has an exceptional group of students and educators that truly embody the spirit of Enumclaw. Each person in this building holds a place in my heart. In my short time here, I have developed bonds and connections that will last a lifetime. Our students, families and staff members have made an impact on me. Because of this, I will bring a piece of Enumclaw to every community I serve. I will forever be an advocate for Enumclaw, even if it is from a couple of towns away.
Thank you for the warm welcome and acceptance that I received throughout the year. Thank you for allowing me to work in service of our EMS students and community. Thank you for helping me to grow and learn as the year progressed. The EMS spirit that you have shown me will continue to serve students and families for as long as I am in education ”
The District will now begin the search for the next principal of Enumclaw Middle School. The position has been posted statewide to recruit the best-qualified candidates. We will work to fill this position as soon as possible.

Voluntary COVID Testing Opportunities The Voluntary PCR and Antigen COVID Testing Program Will Remain for Enumclaw School District Staff and Symptomatic Students as Long as Supplies Last
In collaboration with the state Department of Health, our school district will continue to participate in a state-funded program for voluntary COVID-19 screening and testing that will help contain the virus, protect our communities, and keep students and teachers healthy and safe.
This testing protocol fits into our larger strategy to contain and control the virus. Each precaution we take is an added layer of protection, and when used together, dramatically decreases the risk.
Additional Testing Opportunities for Students and Families- EMS Testing Site Closed On April 1
The Auburn testing site will remain open, at this time. There is also a testing site located at the park-n-ride in Bonney Lake.
