Culture for Greece and Rome
Lower Class Greece
The lower class for Greece is called the freemen. They are called the freemen because they were once slaves and are free. The freemen also include criminals, people rescued from war and people who are brough upon on. They aren't really citizens of greece because they aren't citizens they can't vote and they have to do what the Upper class wants them to do. Young boys at the age of 7 start training to be toughened up and for war.
Lower Class Rome
The lower class for Rome were also called freemen who dressed in togas. These freemen lived in houses that were shabby and could burn or collaspe at anytime. The freemen didnt have alot of guidelines to follow just to do what they were told. They didn't have the best jobs meaning at times the family couldn't eat. When they did eat they ate porriages and wouldn't have utensils to use. Some children were not able to go to school if their family can't afford it. If children didn't go to school they would learn their parent's trade. For entertainment they would watch chariot races and gladiators.

MIddle Class Greece
The middle class held a large number of non-citizens. The Middle class consisted of men who were merchants, contractors, manufacturers, mangers, tradesmen, craftsmen, and artist. This class made sure that the navy fleet was well maintained. The empire was supported through heavy taxes and the commercial supremacyof their town well kept. Women had alot of work to do because they had fewer slaves to help them with chores around the house . The middle class had land but it was small and little bit far away from the city. The middle class are called periokoi.
Middle Class Rome
The middle class for Rome were called the Common people. The men who were citizens would dress in togas. Men had the right to contract a legal mariage with another Roman citizen and beget children who were themselves roman citizens. This class is known as the working class. They had very little individual power but attain power if grouped carefully. They were able to elect someone who could run for Roman Empire.

Upper Class Greece
The upper class is small is numbered with only 300 families. To be apart of the upper class you had to be a citizen and can't have a job. They have been free from economic tasks. Men must have slaves or others to tend their land and fortune. Men only had time for thing like government, war, literature, and philosophy. They used the all the classes below them to do all of their "dirty work". Upper class women were expected to marry someone in their social class. Expected to spend alot of their time spinning and weaving. They made their family's clothing and bedding and that was women's main task. Women were more expected to have slaves to help them and women still had to manage their household.
Upper Class Rome
The basis of the upper class was political. Included men who served in the Senate and by extension their families. The other basis is economic a man who could possessed a stable minimum amount of wealth. They wore a tunic with narrow stripes and tunic with broad stripes. This class had more rights with everythong since they had a lot of responsibility. They had alot of benefits if you were a man but women didnt have so many benefits.
