News for the Week of April 8, 2013
Welcome to Spring Quarter!
Wanna Run Away?
Hello fellow transfers and welcome to Spring Quarter at SU! Whether it’s your first Spring quarter, second, or third, Spring is sure to move faster than Winter quarter did, who knew that was even possible?
How many of you love getting emails from the registrar reminding you ever so kindly that you have the ability to add/drop a class only a week into classes? Well, isn’t it tempting to actually do that? I say yes! When classes seem hard at the beginning of the quarter, it does not necessarily mean that the class will be hard for the entirety of the quarter; it’s what you make of it. I have withdrawn from a class previously under circumstances relating to its challenging course content. I wasn’t proud, but it ended up being a great opportunity to be able to take another class that better interested me.
For any other class that I have taken that seemed immediately challenging during the first week, I always want to run away; get out of the class. But, what happens when you challenge yourself, stick it out, and put in effort? Well, you either pass or you fail! (I’m gonna go with you passing ;) )
To those who just wanna run away, stick it out, it gets better, and you CAN do it.
Sincerely,
Alexis Clark
