What are you doing in the world??
Don't be beaten down by Naysayers! You matter. Your students matter. You make a choice each and everyday on how your day will turn out. One of our biggest obstacles is optimism or pessimism. It is easy to go through and look at the pessimistic side of life, and not try to find the good. But what if we had a mindset to look at the optimistic side of life? That child that talks all day long and interrupts you, may just need a friend to listen to them. When you have a student that has not had the educational opportunities, they may just need you to hold their hand and help them through it. Positive light on different aspects of our life can be such a powerful tool.
Time to Jump up out of that rut! You are tired, and so are your students. But this is the time that we continue to excite them about learning. The last two weeks have been full of different activities, but we need to continue to show them through out the year it can be fun to learn. Just remember when you are tired, you still matter. When a lesson doesn't go so well, you still matter and are doing a wonderful job! When your day is just hard, you still matter, you are doing a wonderful job, and your kids love you!
It's a wonderful life!! You should enjoy it. There are always going to be obstacles in the way, but you are there for a reason. Each child is in your class for a reason, and it is up to you to help make an impact on that child! From year to year our classes change, and we all have our challenges, but remember that you have special qualities to help them. As teachers this is what we signed up for, helping children. And when you think back and look at it, it is a wonderful life, don't dwell on what could be, let's be happy with what we have today!
Looking forward: Go over "There are only so many tomorrows" through " How big is your circle of compassion"
Time to... Be...More...AWESOME!!!

Skype for Education
I know that you've all heard about the great things that Skype can do for education, but have you really looked in to it? I've been dying to take a shot at it, and with a couple of failed attempts this week, I did FINALLY get it to work. Since we've been learning about leaves, we took a virtual field trip to a National Park in Wyoming and got to visit with some park rangers who told us about the different kinds leaves there. They had a short Q and A session at the end also. This experience was so much fun! It is so simple to set up, just go to ...

You can filter the results to fit our age group and find fun ways for your students to see the world right here in the classroom.
