Erin's Law Presentation Monday, October 10th

Students will have our Erin's Law presentation on Monday, October 10th. Erin's Law is intended to help children, teachers, and parents identify sexual abuse, and to provide awareness, assistance, referral, or resource information for children and families who are victims of child sexual abuse. Marie Murphy has hired the "Be Seen and Heard" Childhood Victories company to provide our presentation to students.

If you want to opt your child out of this presentation please complete this form:

What? Parent-Teacher Conferences

When? October 26th and October 27th (afternoon/evening times). These will be half days of school for students.

Where? On Zoom

A change to note:

  • Parents will need to select specific teachers (by checking or unchecking their boxes) to schedule a conference.
  • There are many teachers who help your child learn, grow, and navigate the school environment. For the purpose of Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, we highly recommended sitting down with your child to determine which teachers they see with regularity to inform your conference sign-ups.

Registration: We will send a separate registration email on October 10th!

🎃 Halloween and Fall Festival at Marie Murphy 🎃

Our student council has worked hard to plan an exciting Fall Festival Dance for students on October 14th from 5-7pm. This dance is where our middle schoolers can celebrate Halloween and the fall season with costumes, food, dancing, and games. As we focus on our mission of nurturing diversity of all students we recognize that not all families celebrate Halloween. To foster a more inclusive environment our student council selected to rebrand the dance as a Fall Festival.

On October 31st we will run a full academic day at Marie Murphy. Typically students do not wear costumes to school on this day. Costumes are worn to the dance and we have our Halloween celebrations during that time. If a student selects to wear a costume to school please remember that costumes with masks and weapons are not allowed in school. Costumes must be school appropriate and not distract from the learning environment.
