Mail Merge Training
Video of previous Mail Merge training Andrea Hampton did for the SSS Dept. Link to Screencast is HERE.
As Andrea noted in the email: "Also, I do want to reiterate what Alex discussed on the data privacy – it is so important that the correct student information is sent to families, so double checking the data and comparing it with TVS before emails are sent is a requirement. If for some reason, incorrect data is accidentally sent, you would need to notify Alex immediately. But, if you double check before sending the emails, you shouldn’t have any issues."
K12 Updates
K12 updates will go here when/as needed
Password Retrieval Improvement
Effective October 10th, a change will be made on OMHS Landing Page and in the K12 Mobile App to collect the personal email addresses and security questions to assist users in retrieving their password. Changes included in this release:
- The Email field when creating an account is being relabeled to Personal Email.
- 6th-12th grade students, Learning Coaches, Admins and Teachers will receive a pop up asking them to set up a Security Question and add a Personal Email to help with future password retrieval from the OMHS landing pages.
-- If the user already has this data saved, the pop up will be prepopulated with the current data. The user can validate the data by selecting Save or Skip. If skipped, the user will be prompted the next time they log in.
-- If the user does not have this data saved, they will be able to populate the data on the pop up or select Skip. If skipped, the user will be prompted the next time they log in.
- Learning Coaches and Legal Guardians will receive a pop up asking them to set up a security question and add personal email to help with future password retrieval in the K12 Mobile App.
-- If the user already has this data saved, the pop up will be prepopulated with the current data. The LC/LG can validate the data by selecting Save or Skip. If skipped, the user will be prompted the next time they log in.
-- If the LC/LG does not have this data saved, they will be able to populate the data on the pop up or select Skip. If skipped, the user will be prompted the next time they log in.
- Once Forgot Password is selected, users will be prompted to enter the answer to their security question and then change their password immediately. Passwords will no longer be sent out to users via email.
- K5 teachers on the OLS only can still update this information by going to My Account
Reoccuring/Reference Info
This section will be used for reoccurring/repeated info from previous weeks that may be needed for later reference.
Student Computer Troubleshooting Guide
Important Reminder: TVS account changes
Fill out this survey (bookmark it for future use) for TVS phone, email, or in-state address changes.
Be sure to fill out the survey completely. To make the correct changes, Leigh Ann needs to know whose addresses and phone numbers need to be changed (e.g. which parent or both or is it the LC; whose phone # and is it the home or cell). She also needs to know the student first and last name along with their student ID# and if they have siblings.

High school grad plans
FYI: after much discussion, we will not be using the K12 Grad Plan Tool. PowerSchool, the program where we keep official transcripts, has a Grad Plan Tool option that we will be using so as not to duplicate work. At this point, Kristi Korfanta-Harris, as part of her new role, is getting trained on this process and will set up training for our staff.
More to come.
