Math: Exploring Doubles, Near Doubles, and Pattern Through Project Work
Children are deciding on a repeating number pattern while also considering familiar objects they'd like to use as vehicles to show their thinking.
After designing projects and making a list of materials, children returned to the carpet to gather objects such as yarn, beads, tissue paper, and pipe cleaners.

The word this contains a pattern of four. What happens as it continues to repeat itself?
A project is coming together. So beautiful to see how closely the physical project mirrors the design.
Adam proudly shared his pattern of four, after diligently constructing it using a collection of pipe cleaners.
Symbolic Play: Creating Small Worlds

Considering New Jobs and Responsibilities
This week children and teachers brainstormed a list of jobs they'd like to see in classroom. Children can be seen above using pictures and words to describe the jobs they envision. Based on children's suggestions, we will soon have window washers, a DJ, time keepers and a class photographer. Throughout the coming week, we look forward to continuing this work. On Monday, children will take the time to finish their job descriptions. This work will be displayed for all to see within the classroom. Be sure to stop by. Big news coming in terms of classroom jobs and responsibilities.
