What we did this week...

Greetings Parents/Guardians!

This week students have been hard at work with their holiday projects. Students used their time wisely in class investigating their holiday and putting together their presentations. Not only did students become the "teachers" of their holidays they also learned about 13+ additional holidays celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries. Be sure to ask your child about the holiday they researched and about other holidays presented in class today. In preparation for their presentations I reviewed with students appropriate presentation etiquette. We watched a very short video or the do's and don'ts of creating a good presentation. Feel free to ask your child about these too! Here are some pictures of some students and their presentations...

Coming up Next Week...

We will return to our typical class routines and will begin a new unit titled "En Casa". This is a rather large unit that will teach students vocabulary words associated with the house. It includes the names of the rooms found in a house as well as items found in a kitchen (fork, spoon, knife, napkin, sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc.). In the email I have attached our learning goals "I can" statements so that you have a better idea of the new skills we will be working on for the next couple of weeks.

On Wednesday or Thursday (April 10th or 11th) students will be assessed on the first vocabulary section (items found in a kitchen and on the dinner table).
