Are You Ready for the Start of a New Year?
A MESSAGE FROM MRS. BRADSHAW
Hello, Hartman families! It's almost time to begin a new school year! As you know there have been a few changes to the Hartman leadership! My name is Shawnell Bradshaw, and I am excited to be your new principal! I look forward to meeting all of you! As your principal, it is important to me that we build strong, positive relationships and work together to ensure that all of our Cool Cats are safe, happy, and making continuous academic progress! Hartman Elementary is to be applauded for the many wonderful accomplishments achieved in its history and with its previous leadership. it is clear that this community and its stakeholders are committed to high expectations and hard work so that Hartman students can compete and achieve success! It is my hope to continue in that great tradition and legacy of #Hartmanpride! I look forward to a great year ahead, serving you, your students. and this community! With the school year fast approaching, I want to keep you informed of our upcoming events and important dates! I also want to take this opportunity to reintroduce myself and our new assistant principal, Angela Waters. We are both so excited to join the Hartman team!
Mrs. Shawnell Bradshaw
Mrs. Bradshaw began her educational career in 1997 in Richardson ISD. She remained in RISD for two years, before staying home with her family. She returned to the classroom in 2004, teaching in Terrell ISD for one year before being hired in Wylie ISD in 2005. Mrs. Bradshaw taught at Groves until 2008, then helped open Wylie’s new campus at the time, Whitt Elementary. She taught at Whitt until becoming the assistant principal of Watkins Elementary in 2012. Later that same year, she returned to Whitt as the assistant principal and served in this capacity until her recent promotion.
Mrs. Bradshaw earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and her master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University. She is a graduate of the district’s Leadership Cohort and holds her principal’s certification.
Mrs. Bradshaw's personal teaching philosophy has always been; "Kids don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care" She believes kids are special and unique-every one. They are like wet cement, and with each opportunity to make an impression upon their lives, she always strives to make it a positive one. As an administrator, Mrs. Bradshaw is committed to helping each student achieve academic success while building positive relationships with all stakeholders in the school community.
Mrs. Angela Waters
Welcome to Hartman!
This school is an amazing place where dedicated teachers in collaboration with the community seek to serve our students in their growth and success. Hartman provides a warm welcome and extraordinary experience for students and I am so excited to be a part of this family.
This year marks my twenty-first year working in education. My personal education includes a degree from Texas A&M University (Class of 1997 – Whoop!) and a masters from Lamar University. My career began in Richardson ISD teaching 3rd grade, and later 5thgrade. In subsequent years, I served as a Special Education Program Specialist and Coordinator supporting many students in multiple campuses.
In 2013, I had the opportunity to work part-time and I spent most of my time volunteering at my child’s school in Wylie. A couple of years later, an opportunity came up at my child’s school and I jumped at the chance to return to the classroom where I taught 4thgrade for four years.
My husband, David, and two daughters, Caitlyn and Kylie live in the area and my children attend Wylie schools. I am dedicated to this district and love being a part of our growing community. I believe that all children deserve a high quality education filled with lots of love and support and I am excited to be a part of each child’s journey this year.
