P.B.I.S Trait of the Month: Respect

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based framework for improving and integrating all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. It is a way to support everyone – especially students with disabilities – to create the kinds of schools where all students are successful.

PBIS isn’t a curriculum you purchase. It is a commitment to addressing student behavior through system changes. When it’s implemented well, students achieve improved social and academic outcomes, schools experience reduced exclusionary disciplinary issues, and school personnel feel more effective.

This month, our whole school is learning more about Respect and how to apply it to our own lives. Students will learn how to respect themselves and others.

Care Solace

Our Maple Hill Team and Walnut Valley Unified District is committed to nurturing the social and emotional needs of our students. We understand that these past five months might have taken an emotional toll on some of our students. If your child is experiencing emotional distress and you would like to connect with community-based mental healthcare resources and providers, Care Solace is an online resource with a live 24/7 concierge meant to assist individuals in finding local mental health related programs and counseling services. The pdf below provides details about Care Solace.

As always, the Maple Hill Team is here to support your child. If you should have any concerns pertaining to your child's well-being, please email Ms. Morris at kmorris@wvusd.org, so that we can partner with your family and walk alongside you as we tend to your child's unique needs.

Until further notice, our school office will be temporarily closed. Parents will need to make an appointment with the office to come to the school for any reason. Please email Kendra Wilson (Administrative Assistant) at kwilson@wvusd.org with your requests.
