WHERE WAS THE FIRST NIKE SHOE MADE? PURPOSE?

Bowerman first produced a shoe which was made for Otis Davis (a student athlete) on a waffle iron! Davis says " "I told Tom Brokaw that I was the first. I don't care what all the billionaires say. Bill Bowerman made the first pair of shoes for me. People don't believe me. In fact, I didn't like the way they felt on my feet. There was no support and they were too tight. But I saw Bowerman make them from the waffle iron, and they were mine." They wanted to create a shoe that gave support to the foot. They were made on the waffle iron to give a uneven surface for traction. Today Nike is one of the most popular shoe companies.
