By: Ashlee Byrd

The walk for St. Jude was on Thursday, September 26. It was a one mile walk around the Forest Hills neighborhood. All ages were able to walk, and it lasted about twenty minutes to walk the whole mile. It was a great night to walk for the St. Jude fundraiser! St. Jude is an organization/hospital that helps children who have unfortunately contracted cancer.

Florence City Schools September Concert

By: James Baggett

The Florence High School Honor Choir was very fortunate this year to be led by Paul Gulsvig. He helped make the show a success with his advice. The concert was performed on September 24. The following choirs participated in the FHS Honor Choir concert: FMS, SSA, SATB, and Chamber Choir. Over 40 Freshmen participated along with other FHS and FMS students. The concert contained many songs, including a solo performed by Miss UNA 2012 and student intern, Ann Marie Hall. Many thanks to Mr. Gulsvig, Mrs. Rockhill, and Mrs. Powell!

By Ashlee and Ambria

Q: I'm having some trouble at home with my parents. I'm always arguing with my step mom and I feel like she may not like me. What should I do?

A: You should talk to them about how you feel. Maybe talk to your stepmom in private. I suggest you take days that you and she could bond. I hope everything turns out well!

Q: I am playing football for the school, but I have a passion for music. I don't want to quit and lose friends, but I really love music. Should I follow my passion and go with the band or do what my friends want?

A: Don't be scared to be yourself! If your friends were real friends, they would stay with you no matter what. Plus, if you follow your passion with music, you would make new friends. Have fun and enjoy your high school years!

Q: If you hear someone spreading a rumor about you, and your boyfriend breaks up with you because of it, what should you do?

A: Confront the person who started the rumor and talk to them about it. If they aren't willing to fix the problem, go to Mrs. Merry, or someone who could help. Don't make things worse. Talk to your boyfriend about it also. Explain yourself. I hope things get worked out!
