Red Ribbon Week Significance

Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America. In 1988, NFP sponsored the first National Red Ribbon Celebration. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.

10th GRADE TEACHERS: PSAT-NMSQT on Wednesday, 10/24

All sophomores (and any freshman or juniors who registered) will participate in the PSAT-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on this Wednesday, 10/24. This is an extremely important exam for our students as it provides access to the National Merit Scholarship program and many other scholarship opportunities. In addition, the PSAT serves as a concordant score to the Algebra 1 EOC for any student that did not pass the FSA Algebra 1 EOC in the spring. Please encourage all of our Coyote testers to prepare and do their very best!

If you want more information (i.e. testing locations, classroom displacement schedule, etc.), then visit the PSAT folder under Assessments in Sharepoint.

ASVAB-November 8th

The ASVAB will be held at CCMHS on Thursday, November 8. The ASVAB is required for students pursuing a career in the US Military. It is also a helpful career aptitude assessment and exploration program that is available for any interested student, regardless of interest in the armed forces. Contact Mrs. Larimore to sign up.

Actionable Items

Calling all Coyotes

Submit a Faculty or Student Howlout!

Faculty Howlouts will drive our selections for Staff Member of the Week. Each week we will announce all of our HS and MS Coyote staff members of the week! These staff members will have their names announced on the intercom on Friday. At the end of the quarter the Staff Members of the Week will be invited to a special luncheon in their honor! We look forward to receiving numerous staff shout outs so we have many to select from each week!”

Student Howlouts: At the end of the week these students will be invited down to the flag pole in the center of the courtyard where we will have a Coyote Flag to be raised on Friday. These students will get the honor of raising the flag each Friday, and will have their names announced on the intercom! At the end of the quarter we will have a breakfast for all of our Students of the Week and their parents.
