River Bluff's Core Values (HOS): Personal Responsibility, Growth Mindset, Collaboration and Relationships, Excellence, & Citizenship

Gators of the Week - Work hard. Get smart. Do good.

Gators of the Week: Varsity Cheer Wins Silver Medal

Work hard. River Bluff's Varsity Competitive Cheer Team won the silver medal at the 5A State Championships on Saturday. Their routine was incredible. We are so proud of their season and this accomplishment for themselves and our school. In six years our teams have finished as winner or runner up three times.

Gators of the Week: Language Students Skype wth China

Get smart: The World Languages Department this week was excited to skype with a classroom in China. Our students talked with and interacted with other high school students in China this past week. Chinese classes had 2 exchange sessions with our sister relationship school XinDu #1 Middle School in China.

Students talked about Thanksgiving & exchanged each school information.

RBHS students debriefed on Habits of Scholarship: Citizenship & Growth Mindsets.

Gators of the Week: Support Literacy at RBHS

Do good. We have an opportunity to raise funds for classrooms libraries through a fund called Titlewish. This is a fundraiser set up by one of our vendors that will give us 100% of funds donated to purchase books for classrooms in our building. We have set a goal of $5,000. The fundraiser started yesterday and will continue through November 30th. Below is a link to our Titlewish page. Please feel free to share this link on your social media. We are hopeful that we can reach our goal and hopefully exceed it. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you will consider donating!

Upcoming School and Staff Events

Freshman and Sophomore 101 / IGP and Honors/AP Night

Monday, Nov. 19th, 6-8pm

RBHS PAC

This is a reminder of our Freshman/Sophomore 101 IGP Family Meeting which will be held on Monday, November 19th at 6:00pm in the RBHS PAC. We will be going over important dates, graduation requirements, and reminders on selecting courses for next year. This meeting will cover information you should know going into your IGP (Individual Graduation Plan) meetings. You will also have the opportunity to attend our AP/Honors Course Fair at the conclusion of the presentation if you choose.

It will be incredibly helpful if students bring their iPad with them to be able to log in their PowerSchool account to show you their course selections that evening. Only students have this access through their account and not in the parent account.

If you will be attending and require a language interpreter, contact the Counseling & Advisement Office as soon as possible so we can make arrangements.

Signing Out Procedures

A reminder to parents regarding signing students out during the school day. Someone from the student's sign out sheet must come in and show ID to dismiss a child. We do not accept phone calls or emails for dismissal. You can come in on Monday to sign your child out during the week but only up until Friday of the same week. Also, if you are dismissing your child during ILT, then it is helpful to have made arrangements with the student ahead of time. We appreciate your help to assist in making this process efficient.

Counseling and Advisement Assignments for Students

Counseling and Advisement Team

The Counseling & Advisement team is working towards a more intentionally focused program to provide students with the best support. Rather than counselors having students in all grade levels (9-12), we are realigning to be able to more appropriately serve students’ transitional needs at the different levels. This realignment will also more closely mirror our CREW design allowing students to stay with their school counselor their 9th and 10th grade years and then have another counselor their 11th and 12th grade years.
