Dining in with Mrs. Sluka
On behalf of the OHS kitchen staff--all two of us this year--we want to give the biggest kudos to all OHS students.
Things looked very different in the cafeteria this year. We had new health and serving rules and it really saddened us when we could not open the snack bar for you. Our choices of entrees were fewer and the salad bar was missing. Your OSD Nutrition Department tried doing the very best we could for you with the little bit that we had.
Not one OHS student complained! Not one student made us feel worse than we already did for how limited we were for you this year. You were so gracious! I think this epidemic did some magic on every student because we often comment on how extra polite so many of you are this year. At the risk of being too wordy, I want to take this space in the last newsletter to make sure you and your parents know that we see your graciousness. I will continue to advocate for all of you within our boundaries and hope that next year lunches will feel a bit more normal for you.
Keep spreading that kindness around and enjoy your summer. You all earned this break. C
And congratulations to the class of 2021!
