Workshop Details & Overview
This session will provide an in-depth review of the characteristics associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders and how they impact the student's academic and social experience across settings at school. In addition, participants will learn evidence-based strategies for supporting students with these characteristics through a universal design approach that also improves outcomes for other students in the classroom!

Food: Coffee, water, and light snacks will be provided through out the day. Soda will be available to purchase for $0.50 from the front office.
Lunch is an hour, on your own

- $70.00 per person - Districts and agencies not listed above.

Supporting Students with Autism
Food and Beverage: Coffee, bottled water, assorted breakfast bars, and light snacks will be available throughout the day. Soda will be available to purchase from the front office for $0.50 a can. Lunch will be on your own.
What You Should Bring: Participants should bring preferred note-taking materials and writing utensils with them to the session.
Our cancellation policy- Cancellations must be received prior to 3:00 pm, March 5, 2020. Cancellations received outside of this policy will not be accepted. Attendees and/or employing districts will be billed accordingly.

About the Presenter: Lisa Combs

specializing in collaborative teaming for evidence based autism support, social emotional instruction, co-teaching and behavior support practices.
Certified Autism Specialist
Lisa Combs, M.A. Special Education,CAS, is an author, consultant, presenter, adjunct faculty member at Wright State University, and certified autism specialist. She is also the author of the "Best Friend Books" social-emotional children's books series. She has her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Special Education and additional training in educational supervision and applied behavioral analysis. As a founding member of the Miami Valley Autism Coaching Team, she has trained and coached thousands of educators supporting students with autism and other complex disabilities. She also has extensive experience coaching educational teams in positive behavioral supports, co-teaching, inclusive practices, and program development. She enjoys training special education paraprofessionals as well, with the sincere belief that they are critical members of the educational team. She is a passionate advocate of public education and she takes pride in developing trusting relationships with educators to help them identify their strengths and challenges, enhance their professional growth, and inspire them to achieve the best possible outcomes for themselves and their students!
