Christina Wheeler - Dyslexia Interventionist
I have dyslexia too! I was identified in fifth grade after struggling to read and spell all through elementary school. I was tested at Scottish Rite for dyslexia, in the late 1980s, and they referred my parents to an Academic Language Theripist for dyslexia remediation. Back in the late 1980s most school districts did not have a dyslexia program at all. This was the case in my district. After three years of being remediated in middle school, I made great strides toward success. Some nights of homework were tough, but it was all worth it in the end. I am thankful for my support system throughout my years in school. Preserver and never give up! Encourage your student to never give up and always follow their dreams!
