Makerspace Happenings ~ Grades 1st-5th
The month of February was spent in the Makerspace reviewing Science vocabulary and by making models of plants and their parts using various mediums such as Playdough, Construction paper, Popsicle sticks, glue, and Legos. In addition, students played a game incorporating sign language along with their vocabulary for the Inspire Science unit. We wrapped up the learning with a game reviewing the vocabulary in their Plant Parts and their Functions. I have shared the words in the links below to have your child review.
2nd graders used the same materials working on landforms such as continents, peninsulas, bays, coastlines, plateaus, plains, mountains, rivers, valleys, etc.
The week prior to February break and the last week were spent using our Critical thinking and problem-solving skills creating Lego robots, Dash Blockly, Augmented Reality, Snap Circuits, LittleBits circuits, Cursive handwriting, TradeUp money game, Yahtzee, Lego Wall, and MakeDo activities. Your children model collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity skills. The excitement and engagement show it all!
