CNUSD Intermediate Counseling Connections Newsletter
April's Theme is Perseverance
Above I used the image of the Mars Rover, which is named Perseverance to showcase April's Theme! I thought what better way to show how our society perseveres on earth and BEYOND!
In seeking the answer as to why NASA named the second Mars Rover, I came across a 7th grade student, Alexander Mather's, who was the winning essay out of 28,000 entries submitted by K-12 students from every state and territory in the United States. It was because of his essay, NASA named the Mar Rover Perseverance. Alexander stated in his essay:
"...But, if rovers are to be the qualities of us as a race, we missed the most important thing. Perseverance. We as humans evolved as creatures who could learn to adapt to any situation, no matter how harsh. We are a species of explorers, and we will meet many setbacks on the way...however we can persevere. We...as humans, will never give up. The human race will always persevere into the future."
What a wonderful quote from Alexander to showcase Perseverance. Our Newsletter will provide you with more resources to support and encourage perseverance in your own households with your own students!!
