Business Meeting
Stantec Feasibility Study Presentation
Rob Pillar from Stantec provided an overview of the feasibility study that he completed over the past six months. HIs findings include enrollment growth projections that yield a projected estimate of 500 new elementary students entering the district by 2020 with most of the new enrollment coming from the southwest corner of the district as new developments are on the horizon. Roundtable
Bob Bold gave a report stating that it is day 118 of the budget impasse. He also gave a Foundation report as follows:
1. The Parkland Education Foundation elected three new Board Members at its October 22 meeting. Stephanie A. Koenig, Esquire, Zator Law, Beverly Kressley, Kressley’s Auto & Truck Sales, and Kenneth Zellner, Parkland retiree.
2. With the help of the District’s Technology Department, the Foundation completed the distribution of 118 new pieces of technology to Parkland staff through its Celebrate Innovation Grant program this month.
3. The Foundation is hosting its first Alumni Turkey Trot 5k at PHS on Friday, November 27 at 9:00 a.m. Registration is open on the Foundation website, and they currently have runners registered from the class of 1965 through 2007.

Roberta Marcus commended everyone in the room for donating to the Change for Change anti-bullying campaign at the conclusion of last week's board meeting. She received an email from Assistant Principal Monica Ouly stating that the OMS anti-bullying committee was thrilled to receive $146 from the collection at the school board meeting. The staff and students are excited to pay it forward and promote kindness.
