A Cimarron Middle School Community Communication

A Message From Cimarron Leadership

Dear Cimarron Community,

It’s hard to believe that we are wrapping up October, and we have a lot to celebrate. This quarter our students and staff have demonstrated perseverance, dedication, and community as we continue to learn and thrive during a challenging time. Thank you for your continued partnership around student health and learning. Because of this great collaboration, we have been able to continue with performing arts, athletics, virtual clubs and engaging learning experiences for our students.

At this time, we are experiencing a rise in quarantines in our building. Our goal is to sustain hybrid learning with systematic ways of addressing quarantines, etc. Thank you for your cooperation with these processes.

Strength in Generosity is our theme this quarter. Throughout the quarter students will participate in unique lessons, events and opportunities focusing on generosity, kindness and gratitude. We look forward to these great learning experiences.

- Cimarron Leadership Team

Important Schedule Update!

Upcoming Dates: November 13 and December 11 will be asynchronous learning days for Cimarron students. On these two Fridays, teachers will post assignments for students to complete. There will not be live instruction on these days. Teams and Electives teachers will give further instructions about expectations on these days.

Library Media Center

Does your child need a book to read? DCSD library just added hundreds of new ebook titles to Sora and Overdrive. The link is on Clever and it's very easy to use. Check it out!! Sora and Overdrive.

Be Red Donations

Our BeRED (Respectful - Excellent - Determined) program at Cimarron needs your help! Throughout the year, staff will be passing out RED cards to students observed being a good person and working hard. We reward students doing the right thing by doing a weekly drawing at lunch as a way to celebrate these amazing students! We will be accepting donations that we will use as prizes students can win throughout the year, those who would like to contribute can drop donations off at the main office. Gift cards make great prizes that students get excited about winning if you are looking for donation ideas.

Thank you for supporting our BeRED program!

Morning Traffic

Please help us get traffic moving in the mornings! As parents, the two things that help the most when it comes to efficient drop off are;

- Pull all the way forward, do not stop right in front of the school.
- After passing the "student drop off begins here" sign, make sure your child exits the car when it stops instead of waiting to get closer to the building.

Thank you so much for your help!

Flag Football is up and running! We have close to 140 student athletes participating this season. Please check out the Flag Football Web page for games and other important information. All other sports offerings will begin when we return from Winter Break, stay tuned for more information about upcoming sports! Go Colts!!
