Strings News
Want to learn more about the strings program? If so, take a look at the Southwood Academy of the Arts Strings brochure below.
During the month of October, strings students will sell pecans to raise money for the strings program. If you would like to order some, talk to a strings student or Mrs. Griffith. A sample pecan order form is below.
Step It Up!
Our Step It Up! fundraiser got off to an amazing start this week with an inspiring and high-energy kick off assembly. Student information packets already went home. Many students received prizes for their golden tickets Friday. One lucky student, Brendan, won an Apple Watch. Thank you for supporting our fundraiser; it will help our PTO with its many programs for our school!
SAA's PTO Helps in a Big Way
PTO parents do so much! Here they are putting together T-shirts for distribution. They volunteer during book fairs. They provide honor roll lunches.
High School Arts Classes
8th grade students recently met with Mr. Smith during their arts classes. He described the many high school arts classes available to them when they go to Westside, TL Hanna, or the Charter School. High school arts choices include piano, choir, dance, theater, guitar, visual art, and music production.
