Fable Story
~ By Cassidy Davis~
Mouse, Crow, and Mr. Fox
In a little village, far, far away, there was a big pond over a grass hill covered in flowers. On the other side of that pond was a forest with lots of animals living there. One day, in the middle of January, it got very cold. There was a little white mouse looking for a place to stay and keep warm. He was freezing, and he couldn’t go back to his house because it was covered in deep snow. So off he went looking for a home. He was also very hungry, and was asking all the animals if they had food. They had stored all their food away for the winter, and had none to spare. Finally, mouse came across a crow. The mouse didn’t know tis but apparently the crow was looking for food too… but a different kind of food. The crow was plenty happy to welcome the mouse into his home. He made sure that the mouse was very pleased, and satisfied. That night, after the mouse had gone to bed, the crow got up and lunged toward mouse. He had gotten his food. He had eaten mouse! Everyone was very sad about what had happened to little mouse. They kicked crow out of the forest. Meanwhile, Mr. Fox, was out on the prowl for food. He saw sad crow perched upon the branch of a nearby tree. Fox slowly leapt for the crow. Now he had eaten Crow. Now, Crow had learned his lesson, and he knew what it’s like to be in someone’s belly.
