Mission Statement
Auction News!
Thanksgiving has come and gone which means Advent and Christmas are knocking on our door! Which means the auction is getting closer! First, our Trivia Night was a huge success and a hilariously good time! Thank you all for helping us create such a fun evening with great friends! We will have more events and happenings coming up so stay tuned to the school Facebook page and the Newsletter!
Auction preparation is in full swing but we still need some help! If you find yourself needing Care and Share hours, or if you know you have someone who would love to lend a helping hand, we could definitely use some helpers on our acquisitions team. You can volunteer as much or as little as they want, but we are looking for folks who can make phone calls or simply ask for donations whenever they go into a business. We have people who can coordinate pickup of the items if time and travel are a factor, but if someone has a few minutes each day to send out some phone calls, we would be extremely grateful! We also have several opportunities for donation requests to be made by email. This is a great Care and Share opportunity for those parents who have unconventional schedules, but still want to help! We have all the tools you need, including a script, in case you get the phone call jitters! If you can help, please email us atsjnokauction@gmail.com
With the moving of the auction from fall to spring, we have some holiday offerings that we don’t want to miss out on! We are opening online bidding for a few of our traditional holiday events such as Cookies and Milk with Santa and, the highly anticipated, Best Seat in the House! You can access the online bidding form at the link below. You can place a bid and watch the real-time bid sheet to keep an eye on the progress! Be sure to check the end dates on these items as some of them will be open longer than others!
Many thanks and blessings to you all this holiday season!

Christmas Program Information
Hello SJN families!
The 2018 Christmas Program, "The 12 Days of Christmas," is very quickly approaching! Grades K-8th are required to be at this event. The program is December 10th at 7 pm in the school gym. Music students need to report to their homeroom classrooms by 6:15.
All music students in grades 3-6 are in costume, as well as a group of 2nd graders. Students who do not have a character will need to be dressed in Sunday Best for the program. Please be sure to follow the school's dress policy when figuring out what to wear. In addition, we are following "Performance Attire" which includes no cowboy boots, sandals, high heels, or jeans. Many students may utilize their uniforms to fit their costume, otherwise, shirts and pants should not have writing or designs. 8th grade music students are stagehands and need to wear all black. Students with Storyteller parts need to wear their character costume.
Thank you all for all of your cooperation and your students’ hard work on this Program! It’s going to be a wonderful show! If you have any questions please feel free to email me at eburris@sjnok.org.
-Mrs. Burris

Book Fair Information!
SJN Book Fair
Friday, Dec 7, 2018, 12:00 AM
600 Garth Brooks Boulevard, Yukon, OK, USA
Dear Parents and Families:
Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love
for reading:
- Set the example. Let children see you read.
- Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up with changing tastes and reading skills.
- Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.
Book Fair dates: 12/7-12/14
Shopping hours: School Hours and After the Christmas Program on 12/10
If you are unable to attend the Fair in person, we invite you to visit our online Book Fair at scholastic.com/fair. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.
Sincerely,
Natalie Johnson
