Community Resource Spotlight:
Answers and advice from experts on common parenting challenges, such as household routines, caregiver mental health, sibling relationships, military families, divorce and remarriages, and holidays and vacations.
The Parent Teacher Resource Center (PTRC) is an information center for Stafford County families and others concerned with the education and care of children with disabilities. The center is open to any family who resides in Stafford County. The primary goal of the PRC staff is to promote the parent/teacher partnership in all activities. The PRC provides:
Support through listening and problem solving with families
Workshops for families and educators
Newsletter, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to inform families of current issues in special education and resources available locally and beyond
Referral services to help families locate local, state, and national agencies
A lending library of books, DVDs, videotapes, and information on various disability and parenting topics
Library Makerspace

Register to Decorate a Trunk for Our In-School Trunk or Treat!
We are so excited to host Trunk or Treat again DURING THE SCHOOL DAY this year on October 31st! Volunteer to decorate a trunk and be a part of our fantastic event for EVERY gator! Be creative picking out a family-friendly, non-scary theme and have a blast decorating your vehicle's trunk (or the trunk of a staff member if you are unable to stay for the duration or need a mode of transportation to leave the school!)

PTO Meeting 11/14
Our next PTO meeting will be Monday, November 14th at 6pm in the GES library.
Free childcare will be provided in the gym!
We will be discussing Holiday Festival and delivering books to students in December.
Not able to make it in person? There will be an option to join virtually! Check your email on the day of the meeting for the link to join our Google Meet.
Volunteers Needed
PTO is looking for volunteers to chair or co-chair several event committees throughout the year. We are not able to hold successful events without your support!
The following chair positions are still open for this school year:

School Store (throughout year)
We welcome anyone who might be interested to contact gesparent.teacher.organization@gmail.com. The PTO Board will provide support for organizing these events, as well.
Multicultural Fair - October 22nd
Stafford Schools will host the Inaugural Multicultural Fair on Saturday, October 22, from 10-2 p.m. at Colonial Forge High School. This event is designed to empower multicultural awareness for students, families, staff, and the greater community. Students and staff will share elements of their culture through storytelling, student leaders, children's activities, food, performances, and fashion that highlights what make their cultures unique.
Do you have a student interested in sharing their culture? Encourage them to complete an application to perform. Details are available on the SCPS website.
SMILE Virginia Dentist Visit
SMILE Virginia is coming to our school on December 7th and 8th. Services provided include
checking the mouth & teeth, x-rays if needed, cleaning, fluoride and sealants as needed. Additional care, such as fillings, may also be provided. If you would like your child to see the dentist, please complete the form sent home with your student in their folders today and return to the school nurse by next Monday, October 24th. Forms can also be submitted online: www.myschooldentist.com.
