February News

February is just around the corner Bobcat families and we have a lot going on at Territorial during this short month. February at Territorial is a special month with several treasured traditions. One of those traditions is Grandparents Day at Territorial. Based on what I found in my files this tradition started in 1996. It has changed and adapted to fit the times over the year and is still changing. Grandparents Day has a new name, "Tea with Someone Grand". Just like before it will be held on Valentine's Day and we will have scheduled time that students can invite a grandparent or someone grand to visit Territorial. This can be a parent, aunt, uncle, or someone the student enjoys spending time with. During their visit, students will perform a song they are learning in music, share some light refreshments, and visit the Book Fair. If you are interested in sponsoring a student that doesn't have a grand person attending with them and you would like to volunteer to come or would like to donate $5 so they can pick out a book at the book fair, please let the front office know at 541-998-8371 or smcadams@junctioncity.k12.or.us. We are also looking for volunteers to help with parking, to help decorate the gym, and work the book fair.

Tea with Someone Grand Schedule

  • PreK, Kindergarten, 1st grade - 10-11
  • 2nd/3rd - 11-12
  • 4th/5th - 1-2

Invites for "Tea with Someone Grand" were sent home on 1/30. Please note we would like all visitors to check in at the front office as they arrive and then we will direct guests to the gym where they will join the classes. Guest cannot check a student out from school unless it has been prearranged with the guardian and front office. We are excited to bring back this heart-warming tradition.

I am looking for a few parking attendants to direct traffic on 2/14. If you are available and interested, please email me at asisler@junctioncity.k12.or.us

Valentine Boxes

Valentines/Friendship Day

Box Competition

Students are encouraged (but not required) to participate in the annual TES Valentine's/Friendship Day box competition.

Let your creativity flow!

Use a variety of materials like cardboard, paper mâché, fabric, foam, plastic, etc.

Bonus points are awarded for reusing and repurposing materials!

(toilet paper rolls, milk jugs, cans, and bottles…)

Boxes should be brought to school on Monday, February 13th.

* We have a box in the front hallway where students can grab donated items such as toilet paper rolls, milk jugs, boxes, etc. Students can take what they need to help create their v-day boxes. Families, you can also send in things you would like to donate.
