Skyline Update

Storm Shelter Update
Covid has caused a variety of complications with the progress of the storm shelter. The soaring price per square foot and the State's delay in ESSER III money allocation have not been as timely as we would have hoped. But, we remain optimistic that ground will break this spring for the new storm shelter. The bid process should happen between January and March of this coming spring. As soon as the ESSER III funding is allocated, we will proceed with all plans. It has been a test in patience for us all.
The location of the building was approved recently and it will allow us to maintain more of the current playground. The location of the future basketball/tennis courts is being moved slightly to the west to allow for more room.
Skyline Test Scores Continue to Impress
Preliminary State Test scores were released this fall and Skyline continues to lead the way in a number of testing areas. I cannot express how proud we are of our staff for teaching through a pandemic last year and achieving the test scores in which our students did. We felt very fortunate to be in school last year for the entire duration, but testing expectations were tempered due to constant distractions. However, our students and teachers persevered and impressed once again! Incredible! I recently reminded our board of education that these levels of test scores over a consistent period of time are not normal. The level of success our students and staff have maintained in standardized tests is hard to comprehend and at a minimum are taken for granted by many of us. We are all very proud of the test scores that our students continue achieve and appreciate the efforts of all of our staff and parents in contributing to to that success. #SkylineProud
Skyline Pride
It has been an emotional year thus far at Skyline with various school and community members suffering hardships. It has been an absolute blessing to witness the amount of support that our Skyline Family Members have received. Thank you to all who have reached out to support our community members in recent weeks and months. This community is one of a kind.
