The Principal's office

Dear RNE Family,

The weather has finally turned cooler! This week has been filled with visitors. RNE had two walk through observations by district groups. It made me so very proud to share all of the instructional strategies that are taking place at our school! Both teams commented how engaged students were in their learning as well as their ability to share how they were improving in the variety of subject areas.

Tomorrow is our RNE spirit wear day! Don't forget to celebrate our school!

Best,

Maureen Lilly

Remember to wear your spirit wear on Friday, December 8 and show your RNE spirit!

RNE Release Day

Thursday, December 21, 2017 is professional learning day for teachers and staff.

International Night

At Roswell North, we are very proud of the cultural diversity represented at our school. We would like to celebrate the rich traditions of each culture at our annual International Night event to be held the evening of Friday, February 23. We need your help to make this event happen! Please let us know if you are interested in hosting a booth to share your culture at this fun family activity. Informational fliers were distributed in last week’s Friday folders. Please complete the simple form and return to your child's teacher or email to rneinternationalnight@gmail.com by December 15. We are looking forward to another great event!

Common Sense Media Certified School

Roswell North is proud to announce our approved application and award as a Digital Citizenship Certified School. This honor recognizes our efforts in teaching digital citizenship to our students and engaging the entire school community in this important discussion. Digital media and technology are evolving at a dizzying pace, both unlocking extraordinary opportunities and posing real risks for young people. Students are using the immense power of the Internet and mobile technology to explore, connect, create, and learn in ways never before imagined, both in and out of the classroom.

RNES sees these experiences as teachable moments. We believe that digital citizenship skills have become essential for students in the 21st century, especially in schools like ours that are using technology to transform learning. That's why we are committed to teaching our students how to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly.

This honor is provided by Common Sense Education, part of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology. This recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to creating a culture of digital learning and citizenship.
