English at Eastside
Mr. Gilbreath's Spectacular, Spontaneous School Room
I'm a married father of three, born and raised in Hammond, and a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, with a B.A. in history. I've been teaching for the past four years, the past three in Tangipahoa parish. This is my first year here at Eastside, and it feels great to be teaching in my hometown.
Thanks to the parish's iPad Tech Tub program, my students and I investigated themes using QR codes and fables.
Students are working on a close reading of chapters 6-8 of the novel Hatchet. Their focus this week has been on steps the protagonist has taken to survive in the wilderness, as well has discovering and articulating Brian's rule for survival.
