Presidency
Finally in the year 2001 George won the election for the United States and became the 43rd president. While he was president, there was a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He had to help and lead our country through this terrible time and help us recover. Also during his presidency, hurricane Katrina happened. He sent help but he sent help really late so lots of people got mad. Also George was one of the presidents that helped create the Office of Homeland Security to protect our country after the terrorist attacks.
After the Presidency
Quote
“I know there are struggles ahead, and dangers to face, but this country will define our times, not be defined by them. As long as the United States of America is determined and strong, this will not be an age of terror; this will be an age of liberty, here and across the world."
