SABE Community Newsletter

MARCH 2nd, 2021

Director's Message

Hello!

It is exciting to see that our state is seeing a decline in the number of COVID19 cases which gives us hope that our kids and our staff will be safe to come back to school in the fall. While our rates have moved Sandoval County into the yellow zone, this does not change the number of students that can be in our building at a time. We continue to have a waitlist and should this change, we will inform our families.

Time will tell and of course, the guidance and mandates by our state officials will guide our decisions around SABE's school program for the 2021-2022 school year.

I can say that regardless of the decisions and mandates, SABE will consider the Online Academy as an option for our students for next year.

Speaking of next year, it is that time again. Please see the section listed below that has the links to pre-register your child for the 2021-2022 school year. As mandated by law, we do have to hold a lottery every year if the criteria are met, BUT our returning SABE scholars and their siblings are given first and second priority. Please see more details below!

Stay healthy and well SABE family!

At School Program

MIDDLE SCHOOL

We are growing!

We will welcome the 15 students who's family opted to attend the At School Program to begin on Monday, March 8th. All those families were contacted yesterday. For those of you who opted out but are now interested in your child returning, please respond on this link to have your child be added to the waitlist https://forms.gle/Af64uabGbUyygt6n6

Here are some questions you might still have:

How does adding more students to the school building impact our At School Program?

We had already anticipated our middle school program being here since the fall. We had already decided where their space would be. They will be added to our Movement Breaks, Bathroom Breaks, in-class breakfast and lunch programs.

Does this impact our teaching staff?

Yes. Our middle school teachers, Mrs. Wilburn and Mr. Fernandez will no longer be providing the classes to the 4th and 5th-grade students because they will be returning to the school to provide the middle school classes. See the new schedules for our 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Online Academy students.

When will the middle school students begin the At School Program?

Monday, March 8th

What is the daily schedule for At School Program?

Drop off begins at 7:30am at their designated Zone, please look for signs.

Students report directly to their classrooms.

Students are dismissed at 2:45pm.

Pick-up begins at 2:45pm at that same zone where they were dropped off. Please have your Pick Up tag! Please watch the videos on DriveLine below! :)

How do I download and complete the daily student health screener?

All staff, students and authorized visitors are required to complete the Dr. Owl screener. It is a downloadable phone application. Please see the video directions below. Your child will not be allowed to exit the vehicle until those dropping them off show us the "green" indicator that they are . It is important that you are honest about all questions. Should they not be allowed to be dropped off, you will be advised of the next steps.

Will breakfast and lunch be provided?

Yes, they will have a break for each meal. If your child opts to bring their own lunch, it needs to be brought with them in the morning.

Will they have a recess break?

Yes, they will have Movement Breaks with our PE and Art teacher, Mrs. Morgan.

What do I need to do to prepare my child to return?

  • Two masks at all times and wear a mask at all times
  • Backpack
  • School supply pack, which we will give them on Monday
  • School-issued Chromebook
  • Headphones with a microphone, if they don't have any, we will provide them a set
  • Agreement to Comply form (see below), if you are not able to print it, we will provide a copy on Monday to be returned by Tuesday
