Elementary Updates
Growing in our skills with the BES Glowforge!
The elementary school has a Glowforge! If you are not familiar with what that is, please look it up and see all it can do, it is amazing! We took our excitement for this generous donation from Janson Equipment and turned it into a collaborative learning experience with Mr. Haworth!
Monday, January 15, 2024, four of our 5th Grade boys shared their experience using the elementary glowforge that was so kindly donated by Janson Equipment located here in Breckenridge. Each student shared information about the glowforge and how it could be used here at school. They each had a part in creating the tractor that was used as part of a plaque that was given as a Thank You gift to Janson. From their experience creating the tractor, school bus, and cell phone amplifier, they will write a short essay. Combining hands-on lessons with core academic requirements is key in creating well rounded school experiences for all students. We look forward to the many opportunities the glowforge will provide to our elementary students!
Thank you again Janson Equipment for your generous donation! Thank you Waylon, Hudson, Branten, and Daniel for your great work in presenting to our Board Members!

Bond Updates
Dear Huskie Community,
We are excited to share the latest updates on the ongoing bond projects at Breckenridge Community Schools. As we continue to enhance our facilities, we are pleased to announce that construction on the update of our track and football field concession stand is scheduled to begin in February.
The concession stand makeover will encompass several improvements, including new flooring, electrical and lighting, plumbing, doors, windows, and siding. These upgrades are designed to provide our dedicated volunteers with a much-improved working environment. Moreover, these enhancements will enable us to better serve our valued visitors and spectators during various events.
We are also delighted to share that our multi-purpose room is now fully operational. This versatile space has quickly become a hub of activity for our students, offering a range of amenities such as weightlifting for athletes and PE students, archery in PE class, yoga sessions, batting cages, and more. The multi-purpose room adds a dynamic dimension to our school, providing students with a space for both recreation, athletics, and fitness.
As the bond projects near completion, we are diligently working on ensuring that every detail is attended to. Your continued support, along with the dedication of our community, staff, and students, has been invaluable throughout this process. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these improvements to enhance the overall learning and recreational experience at Breckenridge Community Schools. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Thank you for being an essential part of our community.
Wade Slavik, BCS Superintendent

Keep the Huskies Healthy!
Unfortunately as we head into colder months, the number of illnesses rise. If your student is ill, please keep them home. Promptly call the school with any symptoms your child is experiencing (fever, vomiting, sore throat, body ache, cough) and keep them home until they're symptom free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers. If you take your student to the doctor for their symptoms, please have your student turn in the doctor's note to the office when they return to school. This will ensure the absence does not negatively affect them for truancy purposes.
