Coon Rapids Community Scholarship Night
Congratulations to the 2023 Coon Rapids Community Scholarship Association recipients! On Thursday, June 1 we will be awarding 205 seniors scholarships totaling over $250,000! Coon Rapids students are incredibly fortunate to have an extremely generous community that has continually supported students with scholarships since 1966. The Coon Rapids Community Scholarship Association will be giving out the MOST SCHOLARSHIP MONEY EVER this year! What a tremendously powerful, impactful partnership between the community and Coon Rapids Seniors! A huge thank you to the Coon Rapids Community Scholarship Association, and congratulations scholarship recipients!
Recipients and families have been invited to attend this special evening. The evening lasts about 2 1/2 hours due to the number of scholarships to be given out. CTN will also be offering a livestream option for people interested in watching.

AVID Senior Graduation Dinner
AVID students, families, teachers, and administrators
Congratulations to the AVID Class of 2023!
AVID seniors celebrated their successful completion of the AVID program with a dinner and program on Wednesday, May 17th. Students shared their plans for next year. Colleges students plan to attend include the University of St. Thomas, George Mason University, Anoka Ramsey Community College, UNC Greensboro, and more. The most popular career goal of this class was education - with four students planning to get their degree in education. Other careers students will pursue include social work, business marketing, biology, radiology, among others. For the first time this year, AVID students will be recognized at graduation with blue cords, the official AVID color.
Texas Roadhouse donated meals for the students, and Coon Rapids Rotary supplemented the costs for families and staff. Thank you to them for helping to recognize our students’ accomplishments! Also, a big thank you to the AVID teachers, administrators, secretaries, and custodians who helped with hosting the event.
Important Senior Class Updates
We wanted to provide seniors and their families information about the Senior Fines & Fees, the Senior Survey, Final Transcript, and information about sending additional credits/scores to colleges. Please review the sections below for this important information and let your counselor know if you have any questions.
Senior Fines & Fees- Check and Pay Now
Seniors- All fines and fees must be resolved before you are able to pick up your cap & gown on Friday, June 2nd. This includes things like: lost books, activity fees, lunch fines, parking tickets, etc. Your Chromebook/charger also needs to be returned on June 2nd or you will incur a large fine that needs to be paid before you are able to pick up your cap/gown that day. Click here to access a “How-to” document to check fines & fees in Destiny.
Senior Survey
Each year we want to know the plans after high school for all of our seniors. Please complete the 2023 CR Grad Plan & Final Transcript Request Survey in your Naviance account by following these steps:
1. Log into Coon Rapids High School with the lock and key
2. Click on the Naviance Icon
3. Go under the About Me tab and click on Surveys From Your School
4. Click on 2023 CR Graduation Plan & Final Transcript Request
Students need to complete this since it is in their account. Colleges require final transcripts to be sent as a proof of graduation. Without completing this step, your enrollment at college could be delayed. This survey is one task you will need to complete before you get your Cap & Gown. Final Transcripts will be sent after June 22nd and will meet colleges July 1st deadline.
College, AP, PSEO, and Articulated Credits
For students headed to post-secondary institutions next year and took College, PSEO, AP, or STEP classes while in high school, review this document for how to request your courses, grades, and scores to be sent to your colleges. Be sure to save this document in your personal files as your school emails and Google accounts will be disconnected after you graduate.
Reminder- Check Students’ Progress with ParentVue
As we approach the end of the school year, we encourage you to use these last days to finish strong! Please reach out to your student's school counselor should you have questions. Looking ahead, all final Trimester 3 grades will be posted to Course History in ParentVue and StudentVue by the middle of June.
