Responsibility-Centered Discipline

Empowering Students to Take Responsibility

Responsibility-Centered Discipline is an approach to discipline that is based on six core concepts for developing responsible students. The RCD process incorporates an ongoing model and tools for ensuring full implementation and has produced remarkable results in all types of schools and at all age levels across North America. School personnel have seen significant decreases in office referrals, detentions, and suspensions. Participants can expect to explore the following:

  • The essentials for successful learning environments
  • Keys 4 Conversation
  • Letting students own their behavior
  • Responsibility Pyramid
  • "Give 'em Five" Statements, Skills, and Tips
  • "Give 'em Five" Guided Conversation Checklist
  • Role rehearsals, scenarios, plus much more!
RCD is based on the principle that school-wide reform requires investment by teachers, administrators, and students. The first of the two days will be an overview of the elements of the program while the second will dig further into specific skills and strategies to succeed with Responsibility-Centered Discipline. Plan on attending these two engaging and important days of professional learning presented by Larry Thompson at the Huntingburg Event Center on July 12 and 13!
