Google for Education Product Training SeriesJoin Google for product training sessions across G Suite for Education, G Suite Enterprise for Education, and Chrome devices. Google will walk you through new and existing features, and show how to incorporate them into your hybrid or virtual learning environments. If you're unable to watch live, register to watch on demand. Recordings will be added right after the livestream finishes each day. Note: The YouTube livestream URL will be emailed to you prior to the event. It will come from the address: no-reply-eventsatgoogle@google.com | Dino QR CodesWith the release of Chrome 88 you can now generate a QR code for any web page without any added effort! On Chromebooks, Windows, and macOS devices, so long as your browser is up to date and meets the requirement, you can click on the Omnibox to get the QR code icon to appear (It's the little box to the left of the favorites star). Upon doing so, Chrome’s cute little dinosaur mascot will appear, surrounded by a dynamic QR code that will change as you type a new website URL in the text field. You can download the QR image using the button at the bottom right of the dialogue box, and can share it anywhere you can share images…so really, anywhere. You can also right click any web page and choose the ‘Create QR code for this page’ option. This will launch the same box at the top of the Omnibox and take you through the same process. (Source) | Improved Google Meet Performance on ChromebooksGoogle has heard your cries! Now, Google Meet will be able to run video calls alongside other Chromebook apps and web apps much better regardless of the user’s internet connection strength. By applying some behind the scenes processing tricks, Meet will adapt to the user’s actions and connection dynamically. For example, your Chromebook’s camera and video performance will now automatically be adjusted to make sure that no unnecessary processing is happening in the background. When you open up another program on your device, your video quality may decrease slightly to compensate for it. Additionally, Meet will adapt to the speed of your network by temporarily disabling your camera if your signal is too weak so that your call doesn’t drop entirely! (Source) |
