Mark ups

Tips
- If there is a tax on your bill, you should technically calculate the tip based on the pretax amount, since the service you received has nothing to do with the tax. But since the difference between a tip on the total (including tax) or the pretax amount is not significant, it's not a recommended squabbling point. If your order costs $30, and the tax is 8%, the total is $32.40. A 15% tip on your order, before tax, is $4.50. The same tip on the grand total is $4.86. That's only a difference of 36ยข. Even with an order of $1,000, the equivalent difference is still only $12!
Commission

Tips
The waiter was very rude and messed up our order but he did refill our drinks very fast and kept around so I gave him a 15% tip the tab was $20.25 so I gave him $3.04.
Example

Markups
The item is a chocolate diamond ring $1,999.99 but they used a 10% mark up which the amount would be $200 without the mark up.
