Quarantine Release Program
Central District Health (CDH) recently came out with guidance that allows students to attend school during their quarantine. This only applies if your child is identified as a close contact to a positive individual and it happened in the classroom setting and your child and the positive case were consistently wearing a mask covering the nose and mouth.
During the quarantine period, students must remain extra vigilant in monitoring health and staying home if feeling ill. We have created the Covid Interactive Tool to make monitoring daily for COVID symptoms convenient.

Students should contact a healthcare provider and the school nurse if they develop symptoms, wear a mask, and follow the school plans while eating at school.
Your child’s school will give you further information on eating lunch, and any other safety protocols your student may need to follow while at school. During quarantine students can only attend school. They are not allowed to ride the bus, ride share to school, attend sports or extra-curricular activities, community events or family gatherings. Your child should only leave quarantine to attend school or seek medical attention.
The CDH position statement for additional information is located here:

Example: Joe sat next to Emily in the classroom and they both had masks on, Emily was later determined to be a close contact to Joe, and she could attend school during her quarantine.
Joe and Emily sat by each other at lunch, masks were not worn as they were eating. Emily was later determined to be a close contact to Joe since this exposure was not in a “standard classroom-like environment" Emily would not be able to attend in person school during quarantine.
