Professional Days
Our teachers had the option to work two days during their summer break so that next Monday and Tuesday they would have off and enjoy a long weekend.
They deserve it!

Dear Hawk Families:
As schools begin to recover from the disruption COVID-19 has caused since March 2020, and students return to normal activities both in school and out of school for the first time in nearly 20 months, we are experiencing the after-effects in an alarming trend of poor student behavior.
An example of what we are experiencing is that a 2nd grader that is in class currently, may have been out of school the entire time and therefore has missed the social structure and interaction with peers of school since Kindergarten. We are seeing those behaviors manifest through outbursts, fighting, screaming, hitting, and running out of class. We are doing our best to catch up from the many months of missed learning opportunities however, the behavior is influencing the instruction of the day.
This began earlier in the year with TikTok challenges and has continued with other issues. This is a trend that is not only an issue Hancock Elementary is experiencing; it is an issue for schools across the state and the nation.
In CFISD, there are no acceptable excuses for students who make poor choices that disrupt our school days. Issues will be followed with disciplinary action according to our Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct. The health and safety of our Hancock family are our highest priority, and we have high expectations for positive all-around student achievement. There will be no tolerance for inappropriate student behavior.
We are asking for your support and assistance in helping our students understand the consequences of their actions. If a student is having a hard time recovering from the social effects of COVID-19 and needs help, please reach out to a trusted school administrator, counselor, or teacher. CFISD is a family and we are committed to our partnership with parents, guardians, and beyond to ensure all students reach their highest aspirations.
Thank you in advance for your support as we work together to take care of the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.
Sincerely,
Hancock Administration
